A few of the materials which may be used for needles:

Bone needles                  Bone

What you need to know about Bone: from beef shin bones, sterilized according to government regulations, and bleached after turning in hydrogen peroxide, which also helps sterilize it some more.  Bone comes in size five to size eight only.

Mesquite needles

What you need to know about Mesquite:  yes, the wood used to flavor barbeque.

Dymondwood needles

What you need to know about Dymondwoods: a birch laminate, dyed and compressed under tremendous pressure, it won't bleed color.  It comes in many colors, either solid or multi-hued stripes.  Smooth and strong.

Redheart needles

What you need to know about Redheart: this wood will be one of the few with an all-natural wax sealant on it, since otherwise it tends to oxidize to a rusty color.

Photos of more woods will be added as they are tested and approved for use, so check back often!

Threads

These are just two of the many lines of thread that work up beautifully for lace knitting: Liana and Venus.
